Hibernian v Aberdeen at Hampden Park

Championship winners Hibernian meet Derek McInnes’ high-flying Aberdeen to contest the first semi-final of this season’s Scottish Cup with the winners booking themselves a place in the final against one half of the Old Firm.  Kick-off at Hampden Park is at 12.15pm.

Hibernian come into this fixture knowing they are just two victories from retaining the Scottish Cup, having overcome Rangers 3-2 in the final at Hampden Park last year.  The Easter Road side’s 3-0 victory over Queen of the South at the weekend, and Falkirk’s inability to win secured them the Championship title and a return to the Premiership for the first time since the 2013/14 season.  The Hibees are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions with their last defeat coming against St Mirren at the start of last month.  Meanwhile, Aberdeen could be just six points away from claiming second spot  in the Premiership having won 9 of their last 11 games that included a 7-0 demolition of Dundee and a 7-2 defeat of Motherwell.

Route to the semi-final: Both sides entered the Scottish Cup in the 4th Round in emphatic fashion – Aberdeen ran out 4-0 winners over Stranraer while Hibs cruised to an 8-1 victory over junior club Bonnyrigg Rose.  In the 5th Round the Dons scraped past Ross County 1-0 while Neil Lennon’s side needed a replay to to defeat bitter rivals Hearts 3-1.  In the last round Aberdeen beat Partick Thistle 1-0 while Ayr United lost 3-1 to Hibs.

Kick-off at Hampden Park is at 12.15pm.

Ticket information is available via the Hibernian FC and Aberdeen FC websites.
