Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games

Helensburgh Rugby Club hosts the 2017 Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games, a unique Games linked to two local Clans; the the Colquhoun’s and MacAulay’s.

As is tradition the Clan Chiefs alternate the duties of Games Chieftain at an event where the Heavies competition features events such as Tossing the Caber.  The Heavies competition is a regular of the Highland Games season and is renowned for attracting some of the best Heavies in the UK.

There is also Highland Dancing and Athletics with a handicapping system for some races meaning with young and old alike take part with the different age groups racing against each other.  The main events are open to all comers and have prize money for those taking part.

Gates open at 9.30am with competitions starting from 10am and the Opening Parade at 12 noon.

Admission on the day: Adults £5/Concessions £3/Children £2/Family (2 adults + 2 children) £12.

Travel info: There is a FREE Shuttle Bus running to and from the Games site departing from the Pier car park just a short 2 minute walk from the Railway Station. Buses will be running from 9:30am unti 5pm.
