Hockey. Scottish Men's National League 2014. Kelburne Bromac.

Hillhead Men’s 1s v PSL Clydesdale Men’s 1s ~ Kelburne Bromac Men’s 1s v Inverleith Men’s 1s

Men’s National League, Division 1.  A double-header of matches to enjoy this afternoon at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.

First up at 12.15pm it’s a mid-table affair as PSL Clydesdale visit Glasgow to take on a struggling Hillhead side.  The home side come into the game off the back of a solid 5-3 win over Dundee Wanderers last time out, while PSL drew 1-1 away to Gordonians.  Neither side has much to play for today with both sitting comfortably in the table with only three games remaining, hence it will be a case of pride more than anything else but Hillhead can take confidence from winning the first meeting between the sides earlier in the season 2-1.

At 3pm the league leaders Kelburne Bromac host host mid-table Inverleith in this week’s fixtures.  Kelburne will be aiming to follow up last week’s 7-0 victory over Edinburgh University with another victory today that will secure a record breaking 11th league title in a row!  For their part Inverleith will hope to turn things around after they suffered defeat at the hands of Grange last week.  The away side will take confidence into the meeting though after winning the last two indoor league fixtures between the sides in impressive fashion with 7-5 and 11-3 wins.  However it would take a brave man or woman to bet against Kelburne winning today, and triggering a night of title celebrations.

Action at Glasgow Hockey National Centre from 12.15pm.  Entry for spectators.
