What better way to end the week than at Ayr Racecourse for the Totepool Raceday, the opening afternoon of its popular two-day March meeting. Gates open at 11.50pm and tickets are available.
With anticipation continuing to build ahead of the Cheltenham Festival next week, Ayr Racecourse is the place to be over the next two days for its final fixtures ahead of the massive Coral Scottish Grand National Festival taking place 20th-21st April.
Today’s seven-race card totepool sponsored card has more than £65,000 in prize-money up for grabs which is sure to attract some interesting runners from some of the leading stables in the north and beyond.
There is a hefty prize fund of £17,800 for the feature race of the afternoon the totesport.com Handicap Chase run over two mile four furlongs at 4.00pm. With the prize-money boosted considerably from last year some quality horses will be on show.
The Totetrifecta Handicap Hurdle ( for the James Barclay Challenge Trophy) and a qualifier for The Challenger Two Mile Hurdle Series Final is due off at 3.25pm while the card concludes with the Collect Totepool Winnings In Betfred Shops Amateur Riders Handicap Hurdle over three miles at 5.05pm and this is a qualifier for the Northern Lights Stayers Hurdle Series.
After racing the fun continues with live entertainment from FUSION who will be playing their brand of high energy pop/rock in the Club stand. This band are racecourse favourites and are sure to have the dance floor packed.
