Jump racing at its best returns to the Gloucestershire countryside for a festival of racing like no other. The ‘Greatest Show on Turf’ is under starter’s orders for a stellar week of action which has lift-off in 2027 on Tuesday 16 March. The famous Gold Cup will take place on Friday 19 March. DAILY HIGHLIGHTS
Day 1 – Champion Day
Experience the palpable excitement of Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival, as reigning and future champions unite, all eager to carve their name into the star-studded wall of jump racing greats. The feature race of the day is the Champion Hurdle, where the very best hurdlers compete to make history. Lossiemouth won the race in 2026 with a sublime performance. Can the superstar mare return in 2027 and record back-to-back victories?
Day 2 – Ladies Day
Ladies Day celebrates speed, style and exhilaration. Featuring the Queen Mother Champion Chase, it is fast, furious, and requires a perfect blend of speed and an ability to be inch-perfect when negotiating each of the 13 fences at pace around Cheltenham’s legendary old course. The fastest jump horses jumping at speed with the upmost precision and accuracy. The defending champion is Il Etait Temps. Trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, the eight-year-old grey won the 2026 edition of the race by 10 lengths.
Day 3 – St Patrick’s Thursday
Where Irish passion for the sport and the Cheltenham Festival raises the rafters and the craic is mighty. The Cheltenham Festival is a second home to the Irish and St Patrick’s Thursday reflects this both on and off the track. Featuring The Ryanair Chase and Stayer’s Hurdle, where endurance and stamina reign. It’s the tough versus the tough and provides the most thrilling battles.
GOLD CUP DAY
Day 4 – Gold Cup Day
The pinnacle of Jump Racing, where winners go down in history and legends are born. Gold Cup Day is something quite incredible to experience. The racing, the atmosphere, the entertainment is a unique combination. In 2026, Gaelic Warrior thrilled the crowds with a classy performance to win the Gold Cup. The 11/4 joint favourite cruised past his rivals up the Cheltenham Hill to win by eight lengths. Jango Baie was second, with 2025 winner Inothewayurthinkin in third place.

Trains from London Paddington, journey time approximately two hours. A dedicated bus service from the station to the racecourse will run daily during the Festival.
