Perth Festival

The Perth Festival is under starters orders this afternoon with the first of three days of thrilling jump racing and live entertainment.  And there’s an added bonus on Day 1 as 2017 Grand National winner One For Arthur prepares to take a victory lap in front of the Perthshire home crowd.  Gates open at 12 noon and tickets are available .

The festival of racing promises to draw a large crowd to Perthshire for some quality jumps action and today there’s a seven-race card to look forward to with the first race due off at 2pm.  First though there’s a treat for race fans with Grand National Winner 2017, One For Arthur, making a lap of honour in the Parade Ring at 1.25pm in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF).

When the Perth Festival racing starts the feature race of Day 1 is at 3.05pm, the £20,000 British Stallions Gold Castle EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle which has been upgraded to Listed status (the category just below Grade class) for the first time this year.  Last April it went to Up For Review, an impressive eight-length winner in the hands of Paul Townend and a first ever Perth success for champion Irish trainer Willie Mullins, but it’s a strong supporting card this year and includes a valuable handicap chase.

Gates open at the Perth Festival at 12 noon.  First race at 2pm and last race at 5.10pm.

Tickets in advance are available online via the ‘Get Tickets’ link up until midnight the day before raceday.

Tickets on the day are available priced at Grandstand: Adults £20/Students and Over 60s £10/U18s free.
