The world’s top jockeys are at Ascot for the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup where Flat racing’s ultimate team prize is followed by a live music extravaganza. Gates open at Ascot at 11am and tickets are available.
They’re under starters orders at Ascot for a unique fixture in the global racing calendar where on-track horse racing drama is combined off-track entertainment every bit appealing courtesy of a post-racing concert on the Old Paddock Lawns. Six races starts at 1.05pm with the last race at 4pm.
The world’s premier international jockey’s competition has four competing teams: Great Britain and Ireland, Europe, the Rest of The World and 2018 winners, The Girls’ team. This year’s prize money has been increased such that each race on the card now worth £60,000 – up from £45,000 in 2018.
Post-racing at 4.40pm the music takes over with a full live headline concert opened by pop-duo Go West. Jessie J (5:45pm) is followed by Tinie Tempah with a Charlesy DJ Set set from 7:20pm rounding off the entertainment.

By train: South West Trains runs a frequent service to Ascot from both Reading, Guildford and London Waterloo. The average journey time is 27 minutes from Reading and 52 minutes from Waterloo. The railway station is a seven-minute walk from the racecourse.
