2025 PREVIEW
The world’s top jockeys are at Ascot Racecourse for the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup where Flat racing’s ultimate team prize is followed by a live music extravaganza. Shergar Cup tickets are on sale now.
They’re under starter’s orders at Ascot for a unique fixture in the global racing calendar which sees jockeys from around the world compete in a team-racing format, joining forces to try and win racing’s ultimate team prize. In 2024 the Ladies team (pictured below) stormed to victory. Who will lift the trophy in 2025?
Great Britain & Ireland, Europe, the Rest of the World and the Ladies will go hoof-to-hoof on the turf this afternoon in the latest edition of the Shergar Cup. Last year the trio of Hayley Turner, Joanna Mason and Marie Velon swept to victory for the Ladies team; their third success in five year at the famous Berkshire racecourse. Turner also won the Alistair Haggis Silver Saddle award for top rider.
Flat race team action at its best awaits. And following the action on the course music takes over with a live concert. In previous years the likes of Jessie J and Craig David have been the headline acts.

🚊🚗 Travel tips. By train: South West Trains runs a frequent service to Ascot from both Reading, Guildford and London Waterloo. The average journey time is 27 minutes from Reading and 52 minutes from Waterloo. The railway station is a seven-minute walk from the racecourse.
