They’re under starter’s orders at Ascot on Saturday 8 August for a unique fixture in the global racing calendar. The Shergar Cup features jockeys from around the world compete in a team-racing format, joining forces to try and win racing’s ultimate team prize. The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup is a raceday like no other. A celebration of all things extraordinary, this exquisite event brings together exceptional talent from all over the world – to compete on the racetrack and entertain at the post-racing concert.
The unique fixture in the global racing calendar sees rivalries set aside as the world’s top jockeys unite in pursuit of racing’s ultimate team prize. Battling it out across a thrilling six-race showdown, these wondrous team-based races thrill first-time racegoers and equestrian experts alike.
Before racing starts, team presentations will take place in the Parade Ring to get to know the jockeys. Then the riders are under starter’s orders for Flat race team action at its best.
Following the action on the course music takes over off the course with a live concert. In previous years the likes of Jessie J and Craig David have been the headline acts to close this exhilarating event in style.

🚊🚗 Travel tips. By train: South West Trains runs a frequent service to Ascot from both Reading, Guildford and London Waterloo. The average journey time is 27 minutes from Reading and 52 minutes from Waterloo. The railway station is a seven-minute walk from the racecourse.
