Edinburgh Capitals welcome high-flying Fife Flyers to Murrayfield Ice Rink for a Sunday night clash in the Elite League. Face-off is 7.15pm and tickets can be purchased online.
Edinburgh Capitals come into this match off the back of a wretched run of form that sees them bottom of the Elite League by some margin having mustered just 4 wins and 9 points from forty matches played during the 2017/2018 campaign. And as if that isn’t enough Capitals coach Mike D’Orazio had to cope with the departure of two more players, Nikita Kolesnikovs and Pavel Vorobyev, at short notice prior to last weekend when the Edinburgh side suffered two more defeats albeit battled hard going down 5-4 to in-form Dundee Stars.
The Capitals can be forgiven for not relishing an encounter tonight with their near rivals who are living up to their name as they fly towards the Elite League summit. Currently in fourth place on 50 points, Fife Flyers have 4/5 games in hand on all three sides above them albeit will need to win them all to press home a claim for a top-two, or who knows top of the league, finish come the end of the season. Hence there’s no chance of the Kirkcaldy side taking their foot off the pedal this evening which could spell big trouble for the Capitals.
Face-off tonight is at 7.15pm.
