Scottish National Championships 2017

The opening day of the 2017 National Championships at the National Centre for Bowling in Ayr.  The start of 6 days of action climaxing on Saturday 29th July, play starts today at 9.30am with admission on the gate.

Considered the biggest club event in world bowls and regularly attracting 10,000 spectators, the National Championships has gone from strength to strength following Scottish success at the 2014 Commonwealth Games lawn bowls tournament held at Kelvingrove.

Expect to see plenty of Scottish internationals in action this week on the National Centre greens.  The daily draws can be viewed on the Bowls Scotland website.  Today includes first round action from the mixed pairs along with the opening matches in the senior singles in the gents draw.

Play starts today at 9.30am.

Admission is on the day and payable at the gate.

Single day tickets priced: Adults £5/Under 16s accompanied by an adult can enter free of charge.

Multi-day tickets priced £10 per ticket are available on Monday 24th July only (valid Monday 24th – Wednesday 26th July) and Thursday 27th July only (valid Thursday 27th – Saturday 29th July).

Parking.  A FREE to use park & ride service is located just a mile from the venue at Afton Avenue, Prestwick, KA9 2AG.  Shuttle buses run every 10 minutes at peak times.
