The village of Balloch is the venue for the annual Loch Lomond Highland Games, one of the top three Games in Scotland.
Nestled at the southern end of Loch Lomond, the Games include two eagerly anticipated dates in the calendar, the Scottish Highland Games Association Official World Heavyweight Championship and the 80 metre Scotttish Sprint Championship. A further 350 competitors will be competing in a whole range of events throughout the day including piping, heavyweight events, athletics, wrestling, cycling and dancing.
The Alastair MacDonald Memorial Novice Local Heavyweight Competition gets the Games action underway from 9.30am, with Highland Dancing at 10.30am and the SGHA Official World Heavyweight Championship at 11am. Running and cycling events continue throughout the afternoon alongside a Tug o War contest and the Grand Finals at 4.15pm before a Parade of Massed Bands through the village at 5pm brings a great family day out to a close.
