Flynn, better known as the ‘The Mailman’, set the SSE Hydro alight in the summer when winning the Commonwealth Games lightweight gold medal. Tonight he makes his professional debut in a four-rounder against the experienced journeyman, Ibrar Riyaz, in what many experts are predicting will be the start of a long and successful career in the paid ranks for The Mailman.
There’s plenty of other action on a seven-card bill headlined by Scottish featherweight champion Jon Slowey, who looks to put the loss of his unbeaten record against Belshill’s Kris Hughes in June behind him, taking on durable South African Michael Ramabeletsa.
