The Pitlochry Highland Games returns for 2017, a popular annual event first held in 1852 and always a fitting finale to the Games season.  Events commence from 9am with admission on the gate.

Taking place at the Recreation Ground in Pitlochry, the Games attract a crowd in the region of 6,000 drawn by the prospect of witnessing a large field of quality track and field athletes alongside an excellent contingent of dancers and Pipe Bands.

09.00 Junior Solo Piping

10.00 Junior Heavy Events – Sponsored by Texacloth UK Ltd

10.30 Local Highland Dancing and Local Heavy Events

11.00 Solo Piping

11.30 Highland Perthshire Primary Schools’ Relay

12.00 Edradour Caledonia Pipe Band Parade: (Parade commences at 11.40 am down Atholl Road)
Individual Pipe Bands will arrive at the Ground and march around the Arena

12.30 Track and Field Events: Open Heavy Events

12.45 Presentation of Prizes for: The Pitlochry Highland Games Championship League, and Piob Mhor Dancing League

13.00 Pipe Band Contests

14.00—16.45 Open Highland Dancing , Open Track and Field Events
British Championship Tug of War – Sponsored by Stephen Country Homes
Scottish Athletics Club Relay (under 15) Final

16.45 Drum Majors’ Demonstration (if time permits)

17.00 Parade of Massed Pipe Bands (followed by the Prize-giving)

Action starts at the Pitlochry Highland Games from 9am finishing around 5.30pm.
