The Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh is the venue for an Edinburgh v London encounter in the latest round of matches in the preliminary phase of this year’s British Water Polo Championships.
Portobello came through a close match last time out in Edinburgh, defeating Bristol 5-4 at the end of January to take their record to played 2 with 1 win and 1 loss. Tonight sees the visit of London Polytechnic, ahead of the final home game in the preliminary phases against Manchester on 11th April, a return fixture from the first round of matches when Portobello found themselves on the wrong end of an 8-4 scoreline in Manchester.
Tonight could turn out to be a key match for Portobello in this round-robin format, as once each team in the group has met the other home and away only the top two teams will progress to the finals in May in Lancaster, England.
