🏒 Strap yourselves in for high stakes Saturday night ice hockey as Raiders Ice Hockey take on Telford Tigers in the penultimate match of the NIHL National Division season.  Face-off is at 5.15pm and tickets are on sale here.

The end of the season is nigh for Raiders Ice Hockey who go into this weekend’s games knowing they must better Bees results if they are to retain their National Division status.

As things stand Raiders are bottom of the table on 30 points, while Bees are one place higher on 31 points.  Both teams have played 46 games.

To stay up Raiders need to better the Bees results over the course of the weekend when both sides play twice.  Raiders have tonight’s home match against league champions Telford Tigers, before heading to Peterborough to play the Phantoms on Sunday night.  Meanwhile Bees are on the road at Milton Keynes Lightning, before ending their campaign at home tomorrow against Basingstoke Bison.

Can the Raiders take the scalp of the champions in the battle to avoid relegation, or will the Tigers prove too strong?  Great family entertainment is guaranteed as all roads lead to the Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre to find out.

The National Division is the top tier of the English Ice Hockey Association and comprises nine teams who play each other home and away during the season which runs from September to early April.  Raiders are the capital’s representatives.  The teams also take part in a knockout competition, the National Cup.  The full list of teams in the National Division is: Bees, Basingstoke Bison, Leeds Knights, Milton Keynes Lightning, Peterborough Phantoms 1, Raiders, Sheffield Steeldogs, Swindon Wildcats and Telford Tigers 1.
