A three-match Test series between these age-old rugby league rivals has lift-off at Wembley on Saturday 25 October. The sides then head to Liverpool for a showdown at Everton’s new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium on 1 November. The third match is at Headingley Stadium, home of Leeds Rhinos, on on 8 November. Rugby League Ashes Wembley tickets are on sale.
It’s been eight long years since England and Australia last played each other. A tense encounter in the 2017 World Cup final at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium ending 6-0 in the Kangaroos’ favour. Five years on England had the chance to avenge that defeat, only to suffer an agonising 26-27 defeat to Samoa in the 2022 World Cup semi-final. The Samoans would go on face Australia at Old Trafford, losing by 30 points to 10.
England come into this year’s Ashes series on the back of a positive run of form. Shaun Wane’s side beat Tonga 3-0 in a home Test series in 2023 and then won two Tests against Samoa in 2024.
