2023 PREVIEW
The stunning surroundings of the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) is the venue for the 18th annual Capital Challenge match this afternoon.
The Capital Challenge has become an standout event on London’s rugby league calendar since its inception at the start of the century. In recent years London Skolars have welcomed Wigan Warriors and the British Army to HAC, and this year sees an all-capital showdown as London Skolars take on London Broncos.
London Skolars beat the British Army 52-18 to win the 2022 Capital Challenge and they’ll be hoping for more of the same at the Honourable Artillery Company this afternoon. It promises to be a fiercely competitive encounter with local bragging rights at stake and both sides prepare for the rugby league season where the Skolars will compete in League 1 and the Broncos in the Championship.
Rugby league is not played on a more iconic or valuable sporting venue than the Honourable Artillery Company. The HAC is a 5-minute walk from Moorgate and the heart of London’s financial district.
