Scotland v Ireland

A crucial game for Scotland who must beat Ireland at Netherdale tonight if they are to keep the dream of defending their European Championship title alive.

Scotland, the 2014 champions, opened their 2015 campaign with a 18-12 defeat to Wales in Wrexham last Friday, a result that cranks up the pressure for this evening.  It’s the second year in a row the Bravehearts have played an international in the Borders, and they’ll be hoping for a repeat of their performance last year at Gala RFC when they orchestrated a late comeback to beat France in a memorable game of rugby league.

Scotland will be looking to their captain and Huddersfield Giants star Danny Brough, for inspiration.  And there’s an added interest for the locals with two Gala RFC players named in the 19-man Scotland squad, winger Craig Robertson and half-back Lewis Clarke, who could both make their full Scotland Rugby League debuts in front of their home fans.  Scotland complete their 2015 European Championship campaign in Avignon against France on Saturday 7th November.

Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Tickets in advance are available online via the ‘Get Tickets’ link.

Tickets on the day are available at the gate priced: Adults £10/Concessions £5/Family £15 (1 adults and 2 children).
