Richmond Athletic Ground is the place to be for a Friday full of freestyle rugby sevens action in the most social of atmospheres. Whether you’re a current student backing your mates, an alumni reliving the glory days, or simply a rugby lover looking to see tomorrow’s stars today, this is a must-attend event. University Celestial 7s tickets are on sale now.
50+ male and female university teams are taking part with close to 1,000 players set to compete on the hallowed turf at Richmond Athletic Ground, fondly known as ‘The RAG’. Durham are the defending men’s champions and looking to land an unprecedented 4th title in a row. Exeter are the defending women’s champions.
Ten of the UK’s top rugby universities are confirmed in what promises to be a thrilling day of elite student sevens action. These include Loughborough University, University of Bath, Durham and Exeter. These institutions represent the beating heart of the university rugby pathway, and with GB Sevens scouts in attendance, spectators can witness the origin stories of future international sevens stars.
Celestial 7s has become a proven platform for the next generation of talent. The RAG will provide the perfect setting for the Class of 2025 to showcase their skills. In 2024, seven students were capped by GB7s internationally. Ryan Apps of Loughborough and Tom Burton of Exeter also went on to play on the World Rugby HSBC SVNS Series.

🚊🚗 Travel tips: Richmond is the nearest railway station. It’s is easily accessible from London Waterloo (to the north) as well as the London Overground. The station includes an underground (aka tube) station served by the District line. The station is a 10 minute walk from the venue. Plan your journey using the Transport for London website. A limited amount of paid-for parking will be available at the venue.
