BT Premiership. Heriot’s welcome high-flying Ayr to Goldenacre with the home side looking for a win to press their claim for a top-four spot. Kick-off is at 2pm with admission on the gate.
The race for the end of season play-offs is well and truly hotting up and Heriot’s will be keen to avoid a repeat of their last home performance earlier this month. On that occasion Heriot’s suffered a 46-17 reverse to Watsonian, a result that saw their Edinburgh rivals leapgfog Heriot’s into fourth place by just 1 point.
With Watsonian facing an eminently winnable home match against Glasgow Hawks if Heriot’s want to keep in touch with fourth spot (and the final play-off place) they’ll need to take something from this afternoon’s encounter with Ayr. That will be much easier said than done mind, the team from the west coast arriving at Greenacre in a positive frame of mind having defeated Marr last Saturday – a result that lifted Ayr into second place above Currie Chieftains.
Previous meeting: 29th September 2017. Heriot’s coming out on top with a 22-10 away win.
Can the Nails take the spoils on their home patch, or will Ayr Melrose extend their record to 8 wins from 8 matches this season. All roads lead to Goldenacre to find out.
Kick-off is at 2pm.
Admission is cash on the gate only: £12 adults. Concessions £6 = Over 65s and Students. Under 18s free.
