The Inter Service Championship returns for 2025 with the feature match involving Army v Navy at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 3 May. Either side of the Babcock Trophy, Navy v RAF meet at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday 19 April and RAF v Army go head-to-head at Kingsholm Stadium on Saturday 17 May. The Inter Service Championship has been celebrating sport and service for over a century, bringing together the best of UK Armed Forces rugby from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force each spring at some of the sport’s most iconic venues – cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton; Allianz Stadium, Twickenham; and Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester.
Proceeds from all three events go to support the Royal Navy Rugby Union, the Army Rugby Union and the RAF Rugby Union enable sailors, marines, soldiers and aviators play rugby throughout the year. Other military charities also benefit from fundraising activities at each match day.
Navy v RAF at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton
The Inter Service Championship heads to the East Midlands and the home of the reigning Premiership champions for the first time on Saturday, 19 April. The Royal Navy and Royal Air Force have a compelling rivalry and the 2024 Men’s match went down to the wire, the Navy winning by just one point. While the RAF Women have won their matches against the Navy, this clash is becoming more competitive each year and will be a fantastic start to the day.

Army v Navy at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham
Can lightning strike yet again at the home of England Rugby on Saturday, 3 May? In 2024 the Army Men and Royal Navy Men produced one of the most thrilling matches ever seen at Allianz Stadium, with the 2022 clash not far behind in terms of quality of rugby and competitive outcome. The Women from the two Services are now also familiar with Twickenham turf and put on great entertainment in the day’s second game. This occasion also features performances from the world-famous Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines.

RAF v Army at Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester
Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester, is now well established for this showpiece occasion, which in 2024 decided the destiny of both the Men’s and Women’s overall titles. The RAF Women are the only team to have denied the Army Women an Inter Service Championship crown in 2019, and they will be looking to regain the title for a second time. The Men are evenly balanced, too, and the competition and entertainment have brought in larger crowds with each passing year. Make sure you join them on Saturday, 17 May as the Inter Service Championship 2025 reaches its climax!
