Ayr RFC v Currie Chieftains at Millbrae

BT Cup, first round.  Friday night rugby under the Millbrae floodlights as Ayr welcome Currie Chieftains for an all-Premiership cup showdown.  Kick-off is at 7.45pm with admission on the gate.

When the draw was made for the opening set of fixtures in the BT Cup both these sides could be forgiven for cursing their luck.  However rugby fans won’t be complaining as two of the form teams in Premiership go head-to-head in the plum fixture of the round.  Premiership champions Ayr are currently third in the table with tonight’s visitors Currie Chieftains in fine form as they occupy second place with only leaders Melrose above them.

The sides have met once already this season, with Ayr taking the league spoils at Malleny Park in the Premiership courtesy of a 24-15 road win.  Will it be repeat or revenge as Ayr and the Chieftains clash in the cup?  All roads lead to Millbrae to find out!

Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Admission is cash on the gate priced: £12 adults. Concessions £6 = over 60s. Under 18s free.

Ayr RFC club information.  There’s disabled access, including parking and facilities within the clubhouse.  There are two entries to the Millbrae ground, one from the car park next to the clubhouse and another behind the Burns Birthplace Museum.
