🏉 National League 1. Richmond Rugby welcome Sale FC to the Athletic Ground with the hosts in search of a crucial win as the battle for promotion hots up. Kick off is at 3pm with tickets available online and on the gate.
It’s been so far so good this season for Richmond Rugby who are looking to bounce straight back up into the Championship having been relegated last season. Their record after 25 matches reads 20 wins against just 5 losses, giving them a total of 97 points.
Richmond may have been on a roll at the top of the table however their nearest challengers – and south-west London rivals – Rosslyn Park recently laid down their own statement of promotion intent: closing the gap between the sides to just seven points after coming out on top in a thrilling match between the teams under the floodlights at The Rock on Friday 6 March.
Richmond can’t afford to take their foot off the gas if they are to secure the sole promotion spot and today’s opponents Sale FC – currently in 12th place in National League 1 – will have to be on top form if they are to cause an upset this afternoon. That said Sale have cause for optimism having won the last league match between the teams.
Previous meeting between the sides: Back in November. Sale coming out on top by the narrowest of 8-7 margins.
🗝️ Gates open 1 hour before kick off. Fully stocked bars will be open and food available from the canteen.
🏉 Kick-off is at 3pm.
