Scotland Summer Tests v Georgia

Scotland welcome Georia to BT Murrayfield for their final warm-up match ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.  Kick-off is at 7.30pm and tickets are available.

The clock is ticking to the World Cup in Japan which starts on Friday 20 September featuring 20 teams from across the globe whose captains will be dreaming of lifting the World Cup trophy aloft after the final on Saturday 2 November.  Scotland are in Pool A which also includes Ireland, Japan, Russia and Samoa.

Scotland’s preparations on the road to Japan started in mid-August with a 32-3 thumping at the hands of France at Allianz Riviera in Nice.  However that sobering defeat was turned into something much more positive in the return at Murrayfield, the Scots avenging the hammering with a gritty 17-14 win.

The Scotland Summer Tests reach a finale tonight adn with the Scotland squad heading off to Japan in just two days time expect a party atmosphere in Edinburgh as the home supporters prepare to send their team off in style.  The full Scottish squad will be at Murrayfield having been announced at Linlithgow Palace earlier this week.

Georgia are currently ranked 12th in the world and are in the same Rugby World Cup pool with Australia, Wales, Fiji and Uruguay.  They welcomed Scotland to Tiblisi last Saturday – the Scots becoming the first Tier 1 nation to face the Lelos on Georgian soil – and tonight history is made again with the first ever Scotland home game to be played on a Friday night (outside of the Rugby World Cup).

Can Scotland secure a home win to see them off to Japan or will Georgia spoil the party?  All will be revealed at Murrayfield this evening.

Previous meetings: The two teams have met twice before, most recently at Rugby Park in Kilmarnock in the 2016 Autumn Tests, when Scotland won 43-16.
