Racing returns to Knockhill this weekend with an action-packed Sunday featuring Round 7 of the Scottish Championship Car Racing (SMRC) 2017 series. Qualifying starts at 8.30am and tickets are available.
There is an immense variety of cars on show today as all of the SMRC sanctioned championships get their seasons underway. Round 2 of racing promises to provide some amazing action that will continue throughout the summer. Qualifying and practice commences around 8.30am, with racing action from around 11 am with 18 races scheduled to conclude around 5.30pm.
From the young hopefuls looking to climb the motorsport ladder in the Scottish Formula Ford 1600 Championship, to the vintage racers on display in the Scottish Classics Championship and the always competitive Celtic Speed Mini Cooper Cup, there is something to keep every type of motor racing fan happy. SMRC races at Knockhill showcase drivers with a wide range of talent and experience, from amateurs in their first ever race to multi-time champions.
SMRC intro: Scotland’s premier car racing club and features members from up and down the country, competing on track for Scottish Championship titles. The Scottish Championship Car Racing club organises and administers a series of events each year, with points scored at each round determining the overall Scottish Champions for each class.
Action start with qualifying from 8.30am before the serious door-to-door racing action gets underway at approximately 11am.
