Selkirk 7s

Philiphaugh in Selkirk is the venue for this afternoon’s Selkirk 7s, the penultimate leg of the King of the Sevens series.  First tie is at 2pm and admission is on the gate.

After eight tournaments including the Melrose Sevens, Hawick 7s, Berwick 7s and Peebles 7s the King of the Sevens series is drawing to a conclusion and it’s Watsonians who currently top the table followed by Jed-forest, Melrose and Gala who are all within 2 points of each other.  All four sides are in action today.

Today’s Selkirk 7s tournament will follow the traditional 16-team straight knockout format.  The draw for the first round is as follows:-

Hawick vs Edinburgh Accies ~ Jedforest vs Powerbombs ~ Kelso vs Boroughmuir ~ Selkirk vs Berwick ~ Melrose vs Peebles ~ GHA vs Stewart’s Melville ~ Watsonians vs Biggar ~ Gala vs Langholm

First tie at the Selkirk 7s takes place at 2pm.  The action continues throughout the afternoon with a free disco in the clubhouse ensuring a celebratory end of the day after the finals have taken place.

Standard admission is on the day to the day priced: Adults £12/Concessions £6/Secondary school children £3/Primary school children go free.

The last of the King of the Sevens tournaments, the Jed-Forest 7s, takes place next Saturday at Riverside Park in Jedburgh. First tie at 1.30pm.
