Glasgow Mid Argyll welcome Lochaber to Peterson Park for what could be a key match in the battle to avoid relegation from the Marine Harvest Premiership. Throw up is at 2.30pm.
It’s been a baptism of fire for Glasgow Mid Argyll on their first campaign back in the top tier of Scottish shinty since 2010. Currently they have managed just two wins from 10 games and are among three sides (Kilmallie and today’s opponents Lochaber the others) who are placed tightly together at the bottom of the league. That said the Glasgow side have games in hand on their relegation rivals and if they can secure a home win today will start to feel more buoyant about retaining their Premiership status.
Lochaber had an encouraging 3-1 win at home to Glenurquhart last weekend and will see this fixture as a must-win to maintain their momentum and to avoid being immediately dragged back into the relegation battle. The side from west Highlands have suffered a series of heavy defeats on the road and will be desperate to rediscover some away form at Yoker this afternoon.
Previous head-to-heads: The sides met at Spean Bridge Playing Field on 10th June when it was Lochaber who came out on top courtesy of a 2-1 home win.
Throw up this afternoon is at 2.30pm.
Admission is free for all spectators. A collection is held during the match which contributes to the running of the club.
