Oban Camanachd v Skye

Marine Harvest Premiership.  Oban Camanachd entertain Skye at Mossfield Stadium aiming for a win that will keep them in touch with leaders Newtonmore.

Oban Camanachd come into this afternoon’s match off the back of a 2-1 home win last Saturday over Lochaber that made amends for a disappointing 1-0 defeat on the road to Kingussie the weekend prior.    It’s a crowded affair towards the summit of the Premiership table with Oban, Kinlochshiel and Kingsussie (in second, third and fourth place respectively) separated by just two points.  Meanwhile Newtonmore, on 19 points, have a 3-point gap at the top of the table.

With Newtonmore not in action until next Friday, when they face an tricky away fixture at the aforementioned Kingussie, a win today for Oban Camanachd will see them close the gap at the top to just one point, albeit having played 2 games more.  They start favourites against a Skye side who are having a difficult season, yet to register a win, and only kept off the bottom of the table by Fort William

Will Oban Camanachd take the points they need to maintain their title chase this afternoon, or can Skye spring an upset?  There’s only one way to find out: it’s all to play for at Mossfield Stadium this afternoon!

Throw up at 2.30pm.

Admission is on the gate.
