Strathclyde Park Multisport Festival: British Sprint Triathlon Championships

The Strathclyde Park Multisport Festival 2017 promises a feast of sporting action today headlined by the British Sprint Triathlon Championships.  Racing starts at 8am and spectating is free.

Spectators are guaranteed some exciting racing within the scenic grounds of Strathclyde Country Park in North Lanarkshire which has become the iconic home of triathlon in Scotland after the success of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The Strathclyde Park Multisport Festival 2017 will host two races on behalf of the BTF, the 2017 British Sprint Triathlon Championships, and the Age Group Qualification Race for the ETU2018 European Sprint Triathlon Championships.

There are plenty of other races taking place at the venue which hosted the triathlon event at Glasgow 2014, since when it has hosted many more including fixtures on the BTF Super Series circuit, and the Scottish Standard Distance Championships in 2015.  Looking forward the ETU 2018 European Championships (part of a huge festival of sport – Glasgow 2018 – taking place in Scotland in August 2018) will also be held at Strathclyde Park, so today’s event is a great opportunity to watch some racing on what is largely the same course.

The triathlons are part of a fantastic, exciting festival of sport that includes the Championships, Qualifiers, a Novice and Super Sprint race, and the Triathlon Scotland National Mixed Team Relay Championships.   Expect the park to be buzzing and the atmosphere charged!
