EVENT PREVIEW
Taking place from Tuesday 21 to Sunday 26 October, the tournament at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will feature some of the best players in the world in search of ranking points to progress to the top-tier WTT Champions and Grand Smash events. WTT Star Contender London tickets are on sale now!
Typically, there are only six Star Contenders around the world each year. WTT Star Contender London is the first time the UK has hosted a tournament. The event will feature men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions. A prize fund of $300,000 is at stake.
The main draws of the singles feature 48 players made up of players eligible via the world rankings – including up to six from the world’s top 20 – plus host wildcards and WTT-nominated players (who can also be from the top 20).
Draw update, 22 September: No fewer than 11 Olympic medallists are on the entry lists for WTT Star Contender London. Including gold medallist Mima Ito from Japan, Germany legend Dimitrij Ovtcharov, and Japanese sibling sensations Tomokazu and Miwa Harimoto. They all begin their campaigns in the main draw from day 3 of the competition on Thursday 23 October. Joining them will be top English players including Tom Jarvis, Sam Walker, Connor Green, Paul Drinkhall, Tin-Tin Ho and Tianer Yu. 🚊🚗 Travel tips: The nearest railway stations are Hackney Wick overground and Stratford International station. Both are approximately a 15-minute walk. Stratford International is one stop (5 minutes) from London St Pancras on the Javelin train. Stratford (with links to the underground and DLR) station is about a 15-minute walk. Plan your journey at the Transport for London website. Limited parking is available at the Copper Box Arena, however parking is available at the nearby Westfield Shopping Centre.
