The prestigious grounds of the Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder play host to a must-see tennis event of the summer, as legends of the sport prepare to do battle for the Brodies Invitational under the patronage of Judy Murray.

British tennis greats, Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski, and Grand Slam finalists Thomas Enqvist and Cédric Pioline will go head to head over four matches during the two-day festival of tennis at the hotel’s indoor arena, the venue for last year’s star-studded tennis event jointly organised by Brodies and Gleneagles.  Tickets are available to purchase online.

Tim Henman, the former world No 4 and six times Grand Slam semi-finalist, said: “I can’t wait to compete in Scotland again. Andy Murray’s success has had a tremendous impact on Scottish tennis and we all hope that the Brodies Invitational will help encourage young people from across the country to pick up a racquet and get involved.  While there will be fun on court and an opportunity for sports fans to soak up the pre-Wimbledon atmosphere, make no mistake – our passion for the game is as strong as ever and we’re all out to win.”

Brodies Invitational 2. Tennis on the Road. The tournament also aims to encourage grass-roots involvement in the game.  Supported by Gleneagles, Tennis Scotland and Judy Murray, the Brodies Invitational will see the legends compete with Scotland’s most talented junior players, join Judy and local schoolchildren in a ‘Tennis on the Road’ session, and help raise money for the Elena Baltacha Foundation, which aims to give children from all backgrounds the opportunity to take part in the sport.

Judy said: “I’m delighted to be an ambassador for the Brodies Invitational tournament, and to help bring more world class tennis to Scotland. There’s a fabulous line-up of former champions coming to the Gleneagles Arena, which is great news for tennis fans. And some of our most promising juniors will be on show too. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the kids to rub shoulders with some of the world’s greats and play in front of a big crowd.”
