Open Tour Play to watch - Scott

The TS Open Tour is a brand new initiative from Tennis Scotland and the next three days sees the action reach a finale with the TS 1000 tournament.  Taking place at the University of Stirling at the National Tennis Centre some of Scotland’s top tennis players are due to compete for the title of men’s and women’s singles champion.

The men’s draw is made up of 32 players, while the women’s draw features 16 players. The format for both draws will be the best of 3 tie-break sets.

Tonight’s action features the men’s draw (see below left) in which 15 of the top-30 British ranked Scottish players are in action alongside a number of players who have received world ranking points or played men’s ITF events.  Ones to watch include Scott Duncan (above left), Nicolas Rosenzweig and Robert Leck.

TS 1000 Draw MensAlso in action is TS 500 qualifier not to mention tournament organiser and University of Stirling head coach, Euan McGinn, who commented: “I am really looking forward to competing in the TS 1000.  There has been some brilliant tennis on display throughout the competition, and with the draws featuring some top players, I am expecting to see plenty more great matches.  Hopefully we see many of the players and supporters that have attended the TS 300 and 500 events coming along to watch and add to the atmosphere of the weekend.”

Spectators are welcome at what is sure to be a great advertisement for tennis in Scotland.  Refreshments will be available to purchase from the on-site café.

Matches start at 5pm.

Admission at the TS Open Tour Finals is free for spectators.

The TS Open Tour Finals continues throughout the weekend with action from both the women’s and men’ singles.  Sunday’s finals take place from 1pm.
