Celtic v Anderlecht

UEFA Champions League qualifying.  Celtic welcome Belgium side Anderlecht to Celtic Park for their final Group B fixture.  Kick-off is at 7.45pm and tickets are sold out.

Celtic could be forgiven for thinking they’d drawn a very short straw when the draw was made for this year’s UEFA Champions League qualifying stages.  Not content with pitting them against Paris Saint-Germain – with 25-year-old Brazilian star Neymar a £198m signing leading the way for the French – the draw also put Celtic in a group with Bayern Munich the German champions for the last five years.  Defeats against those two teams means Celtic cannot progress in the Champions League however anything other than defeat against Anderlech tonight will book Celtic’s place in the Europa League in the new year, and hence there’s plenty to play for tonight.  Celtic will start favourites having defeated Anderlecht 3-0 when the sides met in Belgium earlier in the campaign.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Tickets are sold out.
