Under 19 Lacrosse World Championships

The Under 19 World Championships continue at Peffermill Playing Fields, University of Edinburgh, with the completion of the pool matches.

14 international teams are competing at Peffermill in the first U19 World Championships to be held in the UK.  The holders USA (who have won the trophy four years running) are favourites, with their main challenge expected to come from Australia who are perennial silver medallists.  Alongside England, Canada and Ireland are likely to challenge for medals, as are the Scottish team on home soil.

The action starts today at 9.30am with matches across the two pitches.  Columbia v Czech Republic is the first match on with a total of six matches to enjoy.  Home interest will inevitably focus on the Scotland team who have had a great tournament so far scoring three wins out of four matches, and who face Finland at 5pm on Pitch 1.

This is the full schedule of matches, scroll down to Tuesday 28th July to see the matches taking place today.  It’s a unique opportunity to witness one of the fastest growing sports in the USA and Europe, and enjoy a sport that is a great spectator spectacle.  There will also be some ‘come and try’ sessions available.
