Forfar Farmington v Aberdeen

Forfar Farmington entertain Aberdeen at Station Park this afternoon with both sides looking to move up the SWPL 1 table.

Two wins for Forfar Farmington against Stirling University and Aberdeen had seen them move off the bottom of the SWPL 1 table.  And, if it had not been for a controversial penalty, it could have been three out of three but they went on to lose to Celtic 3-2.  Then after losing to Spartans in their last league game, becoming the first side to concede against the Edinburgh side at home in the league, they now find themselves in 7th place – only ahead of bottom placed Stirling University on goal difference.

Aberdeen are still having a mixed season, without ever hitting the levels that people expected before the season started.  After they lost to Forfar, they followed it up with an impressive 4-0 win over Spartans.  But after beating Spartans, they then travelled to Hibernian and failed to turn up as they lost heavily 8-0 to the SWPL 1 second-placed side.

If Forfar win today, they could overtake Aberdeen and move up to sixth place.  If Aberdeen win, they could close the gap to fifth to two points.  However either side that loses could end the day propping up the table if Stirling University take something from their home fixture this afternoon against Hibernian.
