Spartans FC v Hibernian

SWPL1.  It’s the final league match of the season and Spartans FC welcome runners-up Hibernian to Ainslie Park.  Kick-off is at 2pm with admission on the gate.

Spartans FC maintained their push for a top-four finish with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Hamilton Academical last weekend.  That result has Spartans level on points with Stirling University with the Uni side in fourth spot courtesy of a better goal difference.  However Stirling end their season with a tricky game at home to third-placed Celtic meaning if Spartans can take a point or better against Hibernian they may well end their SWPL1 campaign in a very respectable 4th position.

Hibernian can be excused for feeling deflated as they approach this match after their title hopes were extinguished against Glasgow City last time out.  A 3-0 home defeat mean the Edinburgh side finished the league season on a low note as City claimed an 11th consecutive league title.  That said the teams meet again next Sunday in the Scottish Cup and Hibernian will be keen to take some winning momentum into that match which makes them dangerous opponents today.

Kick off is at 2pm.

Admission is on the gate priced:  Adults £5/Concessions £3/Children 16 and under go free.

Programmes £1.  A cafe bar at Spartans FC is open for refreshments before, during and after the match.
