Aberdour v Glasgow Mid Argyll

WCA Marine Harvest National Division 1.   Aberdour welcome last season’s champions Glasgow Mid Argyll to Silversands Shinty Pitch this afternoon.

Glasgow Mid Argyll (pictured) have not made the start to their title defence they would have liked, having won one and lost two matches so far to leave them third in the table some 4 points adrift of Lochaber and Skye who are both on 6 points.  Hence the team from Yoker will be aiming to take maximum points from this afternoon’s fixture which would set them up nicely for next weekend’s tricky first round WCA Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup tie against Badenoch & Strathspey.

Today’s hosts Aberdour will hope the month of May brings a change of fortunes having so far lost three league matches on the spin, conceding 15 goal in the process.  Their confidence is likely to be brittle, however the knowledge a win today could see them draw level with both Glasgow Mid Argyll and Badenoch & Strathspey above them should be ample incentive for the team from Fife to try and change their fortunes.

Throw up this afternoon is at 12.30pm.

Admission is free for all spectators.
