SEASON SO FAR
Manchester United were left dejected after a 1-1 home draw against Burnley in the Premier League. They remain in sixth place in the table.
It was an afternoon to forget for Erik ten Hag’s side. The Red Devils started brightly and Bruno Fernandes’ shot struck the post early in the game. The atmosphere grew tense as the match continued. Boos rang out when Kobbiee Mainoo was substituted for Scott McTominay. The decision didn’t please the United faithful, but Antony scored in the 79th minute relieving some pressure on the United team. It was a poor performance, but one that looked to have secured three points. However, after goalkeeper Andre Onana gave away a penalty, Zeki Amdouni fired the Clarets level, sending the away fans into raptures. United continued to push for a winner but to no avail.
Update: Monday 6 May. Man Utd endured a sobering 4-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The Eagles were rampant racking up four goals in sixty-six minutes against a poor Red Devils side. Man Utd have slipped down to eighth place and are in danger of missing out on qualification for Europe next season.
Up next, Manchester United host title-chasing Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday 12 May.
