London Premier League Teams – Season so far

Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham & Brentford

It was so near yet so far for Arsenal last season.  They finished second, losing out to Man City in the title race by just two points.  This campaign the Gunners are looking to go one better but Mikel Arteta’s side endured an erratic run of form pre-Christmas before hitting their straps in January.  The side from Emirates Stadium are currently in second place, 6 points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand.

Chelsea ended the season with an impressive winning streak to finish in sixth place.  This season, under new manager Enzo Maresca, the Blues have flattered to deceive although Cole Palmer has been outstanding for Chelsea who at the time of writing are in sixth place on 40 points.  13 points behind Liverpool at the summit.

Fulham have made a bright start to the 2024/2025 campaign.  Marco Silva’s side are in tenth place on 33 points.  Brentford finished last season in sixteenth place as manager Thomas Frank steadied the ship after they struggled at times.  The Bees are currently in eleventh place, on 31 points, within striking distance of a clutch of teams above them.

West Ham, Crystal Palace & Spurs

West Ham missed out on European football for the first time in three years in May.  The end of an era saw manager David Moyes leave the club.  His replacement Julen Lopetegui has recently been sacked with Graham Potter now at the helm for the Hammers.  They are in fourteenth place on 27 points.

Crystal Palace started this season with the brakes on, but three wins from four matches in the new year has seen Oliver Glasner’s  side climb the table.  The Eagles head into February in thirteenth place, level on points with the Hammers.

Spurs’ season is going from bad to worse in the Premier League.  Ange Postecoglou’s side have dropped down to fifteenth place  on 24 points, 7 points above the relegation zone.  They remain in Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Europa League contention.
