London Premier League Teams – 2024/2025 recap
Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham & Brentford
It was déjà vu for Arsenal. Except this time they finished second to Liverpool, not Manchester City. Mikel Arteta’s side could not maintain their momentum in pursuit of the title, finishing 10 points behind Liverpool. However, they did go deep the Champions League before PSG knocked them out at the semi-final stage.
Chelsea flattered to deceive for much of the season under new manager Enzo Maresca. However they came good at the business end finishing in fourth place on 69 points. Champions League football beckons in the 2025/2026 season. The Blues also got their hands on silverware beating Real Betis 4-1 in the UEFA Conference League final.
Brentford finished in tenth place on 56 points. Thomas Frank once again steered his team expertly, although they missed out on European football next season. Fulham enjoyed a positive 2024/2025 but faded in the finishing straight. Marco Silva’s side ended the season in eleventh place on 54 points.
West Ham, Crystal Palace & Spurs
Crystal Palace ended the season in twelfth place. And the Eagles flew high to taste cup glory beating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson put in a heroic performance. Eberechi Ezi’s 16th-minute goal proved decisive. Oliver Glasner’s side won their first ever major trophy. What a celebration it was!
Spurs’ season went from a poor to a glorious one in 90 minutes. Ange Postecoglou’s side slowly slid down the Premier League table to finish in seventeenth place on 38 points. But all that was forgotten on a glorious night in Bilbao as Spurs beat Manchester United in the Europa League final.
West Ham had an unremarkable season. David Moyes’ replacement Julen Lopetegui was sacked early on. Replacement Graham Potter oversaw the remainder the campaign which saw the Hammers finish in fourteenth place on 43 points.
